XIPIXI Launch at Loja Das Meias in Maputo,Mozambique

After 4 years of existence in the regional and international markets, the luxury menswear brand XIPIXI proudly made in Africa held its first official launch event at Loja Das Meias in Maputo, Mozambique.

The launch event for the high-end brand founded and spearheaded by  Mozambican fashion executive António Macheve Jr.  took place at the elegant and prestigious Loja Das Meias in a relaxed cocktail format complemented by  a local Jazz and Marrabenta band led by Mozambican guitarist Zoco Dimande. The objective of the launch was to officially introduce the brand to the Mozambican market and make its products available at the store. The guests at the glamorous function included local fashion pundits, businessmen and women, foreign and national diplomats, bloggers, artists, designers, stylists, TV presenters and entertainers.

At the peak of the event, as guests shared great conversations and broadened their networks, XIPIXI founder delivered a moving and inspirational speech where he mentioned that the brand was founded with 200 meticais (approximately $3) at a time when he had been unemployed for nearly 2 years after obtaining his first degree in International Politics. The brand is currently retailing in 8 countries around the world and has presented its collections in prestigious fashion platforms such as Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Cape Town and Joburg organized by African Fashion International as well as the Oxford Africa Business Summit Gala and SA Fashion Week. In addition, the brand was introduced to A-List celebrities in Hollywood during the 2015 Emmy Awards.

XIPIXI is currently starting its philanthropic activities and the first initiative was introduced at the launch event where the brand secured funds to purchase updated books for underprivileged children in the outskirts of Maputo through Associação Livro Aberto and the support of Mozambican artist Ricardo Pinto Jorge who created a full work of art live in 4 hours, which was auctioned  at the end of the event.

The photography captured by the attentive lens of Mozambican photographer Ana Cristina Antunes registered every moment enjoyed by the Xipixi family and guests.

XIPIXI wishes to express its gratitude to the following partners and local businesses for supporting the event and delivering high quality services: Loja Das Meias, Socimpex, Adega de Borba, Flor Real, Ruum, Shaid Filmes and Mando Produções.
